We were asked to design a multi-family house and an underground car park in Hülben, Southern Germany.  Due to the strict guidelines of the development plan, we chose a rectangular building with a gabled roof. The private outdoor areas for all 6 of the residential units are created via loggias on the upper floors. This design is reflective of the regional architecture for Hülben. In order to underscore the simple building shape, the windows are flush with the outside and the façade’s colour is coordinated with the roofing material. The wood panelling in the loggias and terraces creates a comfortable and natural atmosphere while simultaneously contrasting with the plain plaster façade.
